BECOMING A MEMBER OF PORTAGE COMMUNITY
Portage Community (PC) seeks to empower nursing students from the Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) to pursue their dreams of higher education and attain their goal of becoming a nurse.

During the course of the school year, PC students have access to supports and resources in four different areas:
A NURSE MENTOR
Each student is paired one on one with a current medical professional in the area.

ACADEMIC SUPPORT
Study strategies, test taking tips and NCLEX preparation are offered to all PC students, including guidance with adjusting to nursing school and transition from being a nursing student to a professional nurse.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
During both the fall and spring semester, a professional development session is offered to PC students providing additional hands-on practice and learning opportunities above and beyond what is being learned through CCBC curriculum and coursework.
FINANCIAL AID SCHOLARSHIP
Need based scholarships are available to all students to assist with tuition costs and program fees.
