BEING A MENTOR
The Portage Community (PC) mentoring program seeks to empower nursing students from the Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) to pursue their dreams of higher education and attain their goal of becoming a nurse. The PC mentoring program uses committed volunteers within the nursing and medical field to support and guide a student for a minimum of one school year. Each student in the program is paired with a mentor. By becoming a part of the social network of community members who care about nurses, mentors can help student nurses develop and reach academic, career, and personal goals.
